Here are the top 10 Photos on VisitGozo’s Instagram Account!

Back to Blogs

At VisitGozo we love sharing the pictures and videos that visitors to the island share especially on Instagram. Some photographers are favoured by time, by weather and some are simply lucky, but others are ardent photographers who wait for the perfect moment to capture one amazing shot after another.

Today we’re bringing you the top 10 images that had most engagement on our Instagram account in the past year! We’re happy that purely by coincidence there were no repeat topics or places among this set!

The 10th place in this ranking is an aerial view of the island of Comino taken by Pierangela Giachero.

A close encounter of Roberta (@vitadasirena) with a flying gurnard at the Blue Lagoon in Comino has been one of the most amazing photo in the past year.  It’s always a delight when one catches sight of such creatures even while simply snorkeling. The photograph was taken by Suahuatica.

It’s not difficult to understand why the Xewkija Rotunda is considered a wonder. The structure which is touted to be the world’s 3rd largest unsupported dome, is presented here in the dramatic background of twilight by Fritz Photography.

San Blas is not for the faint at heart. The steep walk down to the red sandy each maybe a tad too much for some. Magic Dream Travels captured the downhill scene with a spectacular blue sea in the background.

Mixta Cave has become a firm stop on the ‘Go To’ list while on the island of Gozo. The views from the cave in the cliff face are stunning in any type of weather.  Jessicaz_0406 even captured a visitor with four paws at the cave.

A sanctuary of prayer and an oasis of peace in the Gozitan countryside, Ta’ Pinu Marian Shrine is one of the places where many photographers find inspiration. Here the whole picture speaks of bliss and serenity.

Maybe this is the place where we all want to be and Janina’s Sell photo of the Blue Lagoon is precisely how we want our holidays to look like.

Xwejni is one of the places to capture sunsets.   Albert Camilleri’s photo in shades of mauves and purples is one of the most magical that we have shared this year!

One of the favourite Dwejra photos of the past year is a drone image of the Dwejra’s Inland Sea by Hubert G. The turquoise lagoon simply fans out like a mermaid’s tail from the cave that connects the lagoon to the sea.

And at number one is the inlet of Wied il-Għasri, a photo by Simone Costa. Wied il-Għasri is a favourite place and it features regularly in our Instagram stream.
