Meetings, Incentives and Conferences

Just a stone’s throw away from continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and well served by all major airlines; Gozo is an ideal place to meet.

It’s easy to come here

Gozo, meaning joy, in Castilian, is the second-largest island of the Maltese archipelago, with a population of approximately 30,000. Though separated from mainland Malta by a 5km stretch of sea, Gozo is third the size of Malta, more rural and simple. Exuding a relaxed pace of life, Gozo is the ideal secluded safe haven ad at just a 25-minute ferry ride from Malta, the trip can be easily made.

The scenic ferry ride is an experience in itself but for added speed and fun, you can cross by speedboat, gullet, or sailing boat. Leaving the harbour, the transport can remain part of the fun, with vintage buses, karozzini (horse-driven carriages), old-time limousines, or 4×4 jeeps all at your service.

Facilities to suit your needs

There is an extensive choice of hotels able to accommodate both your event and all your guests/delegates. Of course, should you wish, you could opt for alternative accommodation: five-star farmhouses, exquisite villas with pools or even luxury cruisers/yachts. Either way, state-of-the-art communications facilities and support services are readily available in a calm and safe environment. Gozo has everything to make your meeting, convention, incentive trip or other corporate event a success.

Outdoor events all year round

The island’s year-round mild weather and its spectacular scenery of hills, valleys and crystal blue seas, the extensive history and distinct culture provide a perfect backdrop to an incentives programme or a product launch – the perfect formula for a striking experience everyone will remember.

Due to this clement weather, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) group organisers will have an easy time choosing activities. Outdoor events remain possible for most of the year, including sailing regattas boat transfers, open bar parties on Turkish Gullets, kayaking and scuba diving (for absolute beginners and seasoned divers).

Why not visit an agritourism estate and sample their produce, or try some Gozitan wine at a wine-tasting. How about trying your hand at preparing some local dishes, cooking in a traditional bakery either individually or against a competing team?

Team building activities

Team building activities are facilitated by Gozo’s varied settings. Geographical landscapes offer the perfect playground for Jeep Safaris. Sandy beaches serve as a backdrop for water sport activities to bring out the team player in each delegate. Other outdoor activities include abseiling and rock climbing on the island’s rocky coastline. The island is also famed for its underwater landscape when it comes to diving and snorkelling. Those who are looking for something more suave would take the pleasure in a luxury yacht cruise, sailing all the way around Gozo to the smaller island of Comino. Night cruises setting sail at sunset or dinner aboard a traditional gullet would remain in one’s mind as a unique experience for guests.

Gozo is an island that has immense natural beauty, and the Gozitans do their bit to keep it that way. MICE groups have the opportunity to take part in eco-friendly activities in Gozo, such as tree planting, coastal clean-ups or creating urban vegetable gardens that have a positive impact well beyond the event itself. Or groups can contribute in other ways – perhaps doing some much-needed painting or maintenance work at a children’s home or helping out in an animal sanctuary. It is certain that after such activities, the island will leave an imprint on you too.

Taste & Experience local

When it comes to cuisine, Gozo stands tall and proud, flaunting its rustic traditions based and seasonal menus. Outside caterers will ensure your lunches or dinners are exceptional, wherever they are served – and that could be anywhere from an historic townhouse to a sea-view cliff.

Top chefs are available to host incentive groups for lunch, they are also available to teach groups how to cook a local dish using fresh produce – an authentic Gozitan Culinary experience.

For dinners and events the island is well served by restaurants and authentic venues where the easting is good and varied and the atmosphere enchanting.

Ready to welcome you

With its breathtaking natural scenery, a coastline dotted with beaches, warm, hospitable people and a history that spans over 7,000 years, Gozo is ready to welcome you. We understand that incentives showcase successful outcomes and we will help you to make that success sensational.
