The ‘rock of the giantess’, is a large slab, propped at an angle, in the northern outskirts of ix-Xagħra village. It might be the remains of a collapsed dolmen of the Bronze Age, but this is by no means certain. Local tradition attributes to a giantess in the distant past, as the name suggests. This is even less certain.
