A strange site, undoubtedly of the Temple Period (c. 4100-3000 BC), stands out near the middle of the Ta’ Ċenċ plateau, east of the hotel. A doorway on the south-west is fairly typical, and the oval courtyard reminds one of those in front of many of the temples. However, there is no temple as such, and the small near-circular chambers opening off it on all sides are unique. It has never been excavated.
