We love summer! A summer getaway on the island of Gozo is about exhilaration, celebrations and the Mediterranean outdoor life.

  • Summer in Gozo is about vitality and vibrancy. You cannot get that from a day trip to the island. In fact, a simple day trip can be just too exhaustive. Instead, organise your holiday to spend at least three days on the island. But be warned, even if you do that, you’ll still wonder why you did not arrange to make Gozo your main summer holiday destination. 
  • Gozo’s accommodation is all about choice. Five-star luxury resorts, modern and eclectic boutique hotels, comfortable and relaxed four-star hotels and budget guesthouses are great options for a summer vacacion.   • Gozo’s summer life is about never-ending days where lingering at the beach and the sea plays a big part. Take time to explore the beaches and coast, but it’s imperative to indulge in a swim in the blue seas. But that’s the minimum for a beach holiday, because snorkelling and beach sports are also on the cards. If you crave thrills, spend an afternoon paddle boarding or kayaking.  Your beach holiday can also arouse the call of the sea. Take a boat trip and join coastal tours.

Summer is the festa season
  • In Gozo, summertime is party time. The villages’ feasts provide entertainment all through the summer months. This, combined with an array of concerts, exhibitions and festivals, ensures that there is always some event to experience on the island. 
  • When it comes to the gastronomical experience, the summer in Gozo is first and foremost about hobż biż-żejt, a sandwich of rustic bread bursting with raw flavours, served with crushed juice red-ripe tomatoes, olive oil, capers and olives. Usually accompanying these bread slices are the appetising Gozitan platters bountiful of sun-dried tomatoes, mature cheeselets seasoned with black peppers, water crackers, pickled onions and other cold cuts. Summer in Gozo is a fruity one, with big watermelon wedges, super-sweet netted melons, luscious peaches and nectarines, and mouth-watering prickly pears.
