Gozo and Comino

Welcome to Gozo!

And that’s a real welcome. Gozo is a true escape. Life here is leisurely and the people friendly. In Gozo there is still time for each other, time to appreciate the bright blue skies and crystal-clear sea, the unique coastal landscape and unspoilt countryside; time to savour the mouth-watering Mediterranean recipes and drift back in time to the Gozo of Homer and his nymph Calypso and to the earliest Gozitans who built the extraordinary Ġgantija Temples long before the Great Pyramids were so much as a twinkle in Pharoah’s eye.

Gozo offers unique opportunities

Gozo – and its tiny sister island Comino – offer some of the best swimming, snorkelling and diving in the Mediterranean. There are caves to explore (including Calypso Cave), wonderful walks, UNESCO World Heritage sites, dramatic fortifications and the baroque architecture of the Knights of St John, the famous Knights of Malta. Not to mention a vibrant calendar of cultural events from grand opera to lively village festas.

How to reach Gozo

The main island of Malta is just 25 minutes away by ferry. Take a day trip to the mainland, then return to the calm of Gozo – the place the Maltese come to relax. Ideal for a holiday, Gozo is small enough to be easy, large enough to have plenty to do; developed enough to be comfortable, not so developed with a jealously preserved character.

Gozo is unlike anywhere else on earth – discover it yourself. You will be very welcome in Gozo!
