Nadur Garmin 8K has now reached its fifth edition. This event is organised by the Nadur Local Council and has now established itself as one of the main races in the local running calendar. Since its inception, it has grown in participant numbers and professionalism.
The event is ideal for all the family as it entails an 8K Run for those aged 16+, a 5K walk which is open for everyone and three different kids races depending on the age group (3-15 years).
The date of the event is Sunday 29th December. Being the last Sunday of the year, this year’s edition is being themed as the ‘End of Year Edition’. In essence, the ambiance will be one decorated in relation to the Christmas season which will also entail surprises for the young ones.
Entailing a scenic route, this race will definitely be a great ending of the year 2019 to every person who loves the sport of likes to keep active and healthy.
A total of 54 prizes shall be awarded to various winners in different categories. In the post-race raffle, we shall be giving away three brand new Garmin watches kindly sponsored by Garmin Malta whilst a custom made commemorative token displaying the Basilica of Saint Peter and Saint Paul which is synonymous with the locality of Nadur shall be awarded to all finishers who complete the 8K Run, the 5K Walk and the Kids Races.
For the sake of accuracy, precision and fairness, the 8K Race and the Kids races shall be chip timed and the great incentive of free transport is also being offered from and back to the Mgarr Terminal for the numerous athletes crossing over from the sister island of Malta.
The Nadur Local Council will be welcoming all of you to run, jog or walk for a good cause. In essence, all proceeds shall be forwarded to Puttinu Cares.
