On Friday July 13, 2018, the Santa Cecilia chapel will be the venue for a guitar recital by renowned Italian guitarist Fabio Barbagallo. This recital, organized by the Gaulitanus choir, will bring to an end their 2017-2018 artistic season.
Sicilian-born Barbagallo is amongst the Italian guitarist of his generation most active on the international scene, having performed worldwide – whether throughout all Europe, North and South America, or the Far East. He is also a composer with works published and recorded for Milan´s Edizione Musicali Sinfonica. He is also the founder and artistic director of the Solarino International Guitar Festival.
The highly varied programme includes work from Renaissance composer Pietro Paulo Borrono da Milano, Baroque Czech master John Anton Logy, Romantic virtuoso Niccolò Paganini, contemporary Jazz-influenced French composer Thierry Tisserand and very well-known Argentinian Maximo Diego Pujol. To add some more spice, some Sicilian folk dances will also be played.
The concert starts at 8pm, is free and all are welcome.
