Away from the hiking, trekking, cycling, climbing, kayaking and diving for which Gozo is famous, sports in Gozo is vast. For such a small island, Gozo has a varied and interesting sports calendar.

2. The Gozo Sports Complex
Whilst sporting events by the above associations occur in various locations on the island, the Gozo Sports Complex can be considered as the main hub of sports facilities in Gozo. Basketball, volleyball, futsal, table and tennis, squash, badminton, martial arts, netball and indoor climbing are all practised at the Gozo Sports Complex. Private instructors also provide sessions and training in dancing, modelling, yoga, Pilates and gymnastics. As a gym, the Gozo Sports Complex is equipped with state-of-the art equipment for cardio, fitness and weight-lifting workouts. Everyone can make use of the gym and children need to be accompanied by an adult.

3. Your perfect outdoor training zone

Away from the professional setting of the Gozo Sports Complex, Gozo provides the opportunity for athletic preparation outdoors. This might be one of the strongest appeals for sports enthusiasts. Choose from the many beaches, rolling hills or rocky plateaus as your workout backdrop. Whether you’re visiting the island in holiday mode or as part of your training regime, there is no doubt that the island will provide you with motivation and enthusiasm. Beyond the beauty, Gozo’s flat areas are complemented by various uphill and descent routes, making it easy to prepare training plans that address different challenges in terms of workouts and physical activities.
